COVID-19 Response

March 12, 2020

Public health measures are inevitably affecting upcoming events and large gatherings for the foreseeable future. In light of the current anxieties and unknowns surrounding COVID-19 and out of an abundance of caution for the LA Fashion Festival community and beyond, kulturspace is canceling all public events until further notice. We are taking this measure to protect guests, participants, and the general public following direction of the WHO, CDC, State of California, and County of Los Angeles regarding the novel virus.

Even though the main event is still a handful of months away, as a nonprofit organization, we rely on the generous support of sponsors and partners to organize the festival and keep it an open event for the public. Unfortunately, the current Coronavirus situation has compelled sponsors and partners to re-evaluate their priorities and activities due to its economic impact. In addition, complying with public health mandates to flatten the epidemic curve requires us to re-evaluate LAFF ‘20 and the feasibility of it in the current climate.

I look forward to sharing further updates as the situation evolves, and we appreciate your support, understanding, and patience. We wish you all the best of health and in the meantime, keep calm but stay safe.

PS: We are currently exploring a hybrid festival experience with a focus on online screenings of fashion films!

Creatively yours.
