Upcyclers: Fashion's Climate Frontliners

Upcyclers have the drive to make an impact on Mother Earth, they are more than designers, they are planet warriors, activist and social justice advocates. The world has been waiting for a fashion revolution and now they are here, on the frontlines preventing landfill waste and fighting for the right to live sustainably.

Roxana Chapela

Roxana Chapela was born and raised in Mexico City. She is an Architect with a certificate in Fine Arts and a Permaculture Design diploma. She has walked the last 2 decades of her professional journey in film and theater, by designing sets for different kinds of Universes. Which led her to move to Vancouver, Canada 13 years ago. Chapela has also Directed some award wining short documentaries like “Upcyclers: Fashion’s Climate Frontliners” and “The Peaceful Revolution". Currently, she is developing her first feature film as Director.

Finally but not least, her passion for social change and sustainability has been reflected as well in the circular fashion brand: Magdala Upcycling, as Co-founder and Artistic Director.
