Triana is an Andalusian woman who needs to fight against tradition. She arrives in a village full of mysticism and women where she has the mission to liberate them. A conceptual film that tries to fight against stereotypes and patriarchal status.

Fany de la Chica

Fany de la Chica is an award-winning filmmaker, singer and educator. She studied cinematography at the School of Cinema Studies of Cataluña (Barcelona), a Masters of Arts in Documentary at the Royal Holloway University of London, and received the prestigious “Rafael del Pino Scholarship” that funded the MFA in Directing/Screenwriting at Columbia University in New York.

Her films have been selected in more than one hundred international film festivals and have been broadcast on television. Her work has also been published in the magazine Cinewoman, MovieMaker and Hollywood Reporter. She was selected for Berlinale Talent Campus 2015.

She won a College Emmy Award with her short film “Something to Believe in”. This short had the premiere at New Filmmakers Los Angeles and has been screened at the Oscar Qualifying film festivals -Telluride, Nashville Film Festival and Cinequest-

She won the award “New View” from Glamour magazine the US and GirlGaze with her short film “The Looking Ceremony”. This short film has also been selected in festivals around the world (San Diego Latino Film Festival, Madrid Film Festival, European Film Festival of Seville or Cucalorus Film festival).

Her short film “Round Trip” received the subsidy from the Institute of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences of Spain (ICAA), it was pre-selected for the Goya Awards (academy awards in Spain) and then broadcast on Spanish public television. Her documentary "One day in Smara" was selected in almost forty international festivals, it was broadcast on Community Channel in the United Kingdom and won five awards (Special Mention of the Jury - London International Documentary Festival). Her documentary “The Visit”, screened in more than thirty international festivals, broadcast on public television in Denmark DR2 and won several awards (Remi Platinum - Worldfest Houston International Film & Video Festival - the US- or Best International Documentary - International Film Festival for Human Rights -Colombia- ).

The short film “Santo Cerro” -that she co-wrote and produced- was first place winner in the Dominican Ministry of Culture's Luz y Movimiento Shorts, second place winner Official Selection Dominican Film Festival, and selected at New Orleans Film Festival and Miami Film Festival.

In a personal capacity, she received the award “The Andalusian of the Future” in the culture category that recognizes young promises under thirty-three years old.

She was selected for the Esodoc (European Social Documentary) program and Erasmus Young Entrepreneurs Program.

She worked as a film director at the Media Company - Contentive - (London) where she directed commercial videos for clients such as Google, the International Olympic Committee, or Oppo Ice Cream. As a freelancer, she worked for the fashion brand “The Outnet”.

She released her music album "Dressed for a Sunday", with nine songs that mix flamenco with jazz, R&B, and pop appearing in magazines like Remezcla.

As an educator, she has been selected for a teaching Art Residency with Project Art, worked as a film teacher assistant at Columbia University with Richard Peña, as a photography teacher assistant for Magic Box at Chelsea High School, as a documentary teacher with the organization ID Studio in the Bronx and as a film teacher, for the education program at Lincoln Center.
