HÀNA

Last December whilst spending some time with my husband, Shkumbin on the beautiful Dalmatian coast of Croatia, we were joined by our friends from Berlin, Luey Nohut a filmmaker and director and Ryszard Zych a music producer and composer with the idea of working on a fashion project together that had all spawned from an Alber Elbaz quote in one of our previous get-togethers. Elbaz, the longtime head of “Lanvin”, said: "Style is something reflected from our soul to the outside world—an emotion.”

Now, for as long as photography existed it has been the go to medium for documenting style and fashion just like painting was before that. Beautifully so. But we just wanted to use new mediums, new ways, new means to express the transcendental nature of style and fashion alike.

If fashion had been stuck in the old ways and not use new means, new methods, new outlets of expression it would not be, especially today, when human contacts are so quick, an instant language. Based on this premise we embarked on this endeavor, using the medium of film, wanting to first and foremost convey an emotion, a sartorial speech-cloud that says, "This is what I am! This is who I am! This is what I stand for. This is me!”

And just like Hubert de Givenchy once quipped: “The dress must follow the body of a woman, not the body following the shape of the dress." We also decided that our film follow our love, passion and emotions.

We believe to have modestly succeeded.
